Alabama vs Clemson

Clemson beefed up with returning starters from the team that fell in last year’s title game, is bent on redemption. The Tigers waltzed in their semifinal matchup for the second straight year, earning a dominant 31-0 win over Ohio State. Deshaun Watson accounted for three touchdowns, and Ohio State amounted paltry 215 total yards.

had a similar muscle-flexing performance on defense in its 24-7 win over Washington. The Tide held Washington to 194 yards and got 180 yards and two touchdowns from Bo Scarbrough on the ground. Their struggles outside Scarbrough led to the early departure of offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin, who will be replaced by Steve Sarkisian.

That creates a wrinkle for Clemson, which will have to learn Sarkisian’s play-calling techniques on the fly. Here’s a look at some of the latest odds and predictions heading into Monday’s game

103rd Rose Bowl Game

The Nittany Lions were 2-2 after four games. The Trojans were 1-3. Neither has lost since, and both head into the Rose Bowl firing well on any number of cylinders.  1. USC’s run defense is a huge advantage. Penn State running back Saquon Barkley is great, but the Nittany Lions haven’t threaded together a strong overall running game throughout the season. PSU is 74th in Rushing S&P+, while USC ranks 10th against the run on defense. The Trojans’ front more or less completely shut down the ground games of Washington, Oregon, and Arizona State during their winning streak, and nobody’s gotten to 5 yards per carry against them since September.
2. So Penn State’s going to have to throw a lot. And that’s been fine for most of the year. Trace McSorley has been a revelation as a dual threat, and he’s got some good receivers in DaeSean Hamilton, Chris Godwin, Saeed Blacknall, and Mike Gesicki. The USC defense defends the pass well, too, with a secondary keyed by the electrifying Adoree’ Jackson. The chess match here will be interesting, especially as it relates to how USC coordinator Clancy Pendergast deploys Jackson

3. If USC goes up big, don’t count out Penn State. The Lions might be the best fourth-quarter team in the country. They needed a multi-touchdown comeback to beat Wisconsin (though much of that came in the third), and they rank first nationally in S&P+ during the final 15 minutes. PSU has outscored opponents 166-55 in fourth quarters — a stunning 8.5-point margin per game. USC’s better than the majority of the teams Penn State’s faced, but the broader point here is simple: If Darnold throws up a couple of touchdowns early, James Franklin’s bunch will probably keep playing.

Cotton Bowl Live

Western Michigan to a New Years 6 Bowl Game? It all come down to “street cred”. Cotton Bowl Live Stream,Boise State has it and the Mid-American Conference does not. That’s not going to change any time soon and certainly not in time for this season. Boise State didn’t get it’s street cred with it’s regular season wins over Oregon and Georgia. It got it from beating Oklahoma in a BCS bowl game. And Utah and TCU, in the MWC at the time, beating top 5 Alabama and Wisconsin in BCS bowl games. Now the BCS is dead, and that’s where the MAC is going to have a hard time getting into the Cotton Bowl, ever

The academy said it was on pace to sell about 10,000 of its tickets by Friday evening. New Mexico reported just 292 tickets sold through its office, but speculated that most attending on behalf of the Lobos would have purchased tickets elsewhere. The Texas State Fair, which will be going on during the game, offered special promotions to the game Friday. Each player is given four tickets, and competition for any unused tickets has been fierce.Cotton Bowl 2017“It’s going to be fun,” New Mexico linebacker Dakota Cox said. “It’s almost like playing in a bowl game. It’s two teams that are just ready to go after it.”

It may feel like a bowl game, but the implications here are worth more than at what amounts to an end-of-season exhibition game. Air Force (4-1, 1-1 Mountain West) suffered its first loss of the season last week, squashing talk of an undefeated season. But if it can keep it to just one loss as it navigates a stretch of six games where it figures to be the favorite in each (it is a two-touchdown favorite against the Lobos, who are 2-3, 1-1), Air Force would capture the Commander-in-Chief’s trophy and may yet set up a winner-take-all showdown with Boise State for the Mountain Division title on Black Friday. That would assume some help with a Wyoming loss or two along the way, but the Cowboys have difficult games against the Broncos and San Diego State remaining on their schedule.

In short, the Falcons have little time to lick their wounds as this is likely the most dangerous game they’ll play in about a month and a half.”It’s kind of like a smack in the face,” said tailback Tim McVey, who scored five touchdowns against New Mexico last year. “It’s kind of like you have refocus,Cotton Bowl 2017 Live settle down, get back to the football you know you can play. Then you get to work.”The Falcons understand that, unique venue or not, this is a game they need.

“It’s fun for us,” Ross said. “A lot of Texas boys on the team, so we get to play in front of family. But we see it as the next game. That’s all fine and dandy, but we’ve got to get a ‘W’ this weekend.”When New Mexico coach Bob Davie sees Air Force, he sees a tenacious, consistent team.

In fact, Davie said over his four years as head coach of the Lobos, he’s strived to build a program reminiscent of this week’s opponent.”It’s Air Force — you know what you’re going to get,” Davie said during Tuesday’s news conference. “They’re never going to go away, and they’re going to fight you. We better be prepared to do the same thing. You hope you’re built the same way.”

On Saturday afternoon, the two Mountain West Conference teams will meet at the Cotton Bowl, where college football will be played for the third week in a row, following Texas-OU and Prairie View-Grambling.Though Davie hopes his team can match up with Air Force on a qualitative level, the teams do share one quantitative aspect of their game: They both run the ball well.New Mexico is the top-ranked rushing team in the country, averaging 354 yards per game. Air Force is seventh in the FBS with 280 rushing yards per game.

The Lobos’ main weapon, running back Teriyon Gipson — who graduated from Kimball High School — missed last week’s 49-21 loss to Boise State with a hamstring injury.”[Gipson] practiced a little bit today, but he’s kind of on a pitch count,” Davie said.Gipson has carried the ball 31 times for 399 yards and five touchdowns this year, averaging an explosive 12.9 yards per carry. As a team, the Lobos average 6.4 yards per carry. It’s something Air Force coach Troy Calhoun has taken notice of.”Whenever there’s a crease, and they go, a lot of the times they don’t get caught,” Calhoun said Tuesday. If there’s any team that could stop New Mexico’s rushing attack, it’s Air Force. The Falcons are ranked No. 2 in the country in rushing defense, limiting opponents to an average of 2.46 yards per carry and 80.2 yards per game. Earlier in the season, Air Force held Navy — renowned for being able to run the ball successfully — to 57 yards on 38 carries in a 28-14 victory.

So what’s going to happen when the two top units meet Saturday?”Something is going to give,” Davie said with a grin, leading toward the subsequent tongue-in-cheek comment. “I don’t know, man, that’s why they’re buying those tickets. That’s why that market in Dallas right now is heating up.Cotton Bowl 2017 Live Stream We might get 70,000 [people] in that Cotton Bowl this weekend to see what’s going to give.

Outback Bowl Live
Event Date: Monday, January 2, 2017
Where Place On : Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, Florida
Start Time: 1:00 PM ET
Official Live/Broad Casting:

In the real world, when a team or unit performs admirably, they may receive some sort of cash bonus or material benefit to reward them for their efforts. In the word of collegiate athletics, the thought of that type of reward is absolutely laughable so instead, they receive “swag” for going to a bowl game. What is “swag,” you ask? Per SBD, the NCAA allows each bowl to award up to $550 worth of gifts to each player. Additionally, the school (Iowa) has the option of rewarding each player with gifts up to $400.

The “gift suite” is a bowl standard, where the players usually get to select one gift from 5-10 options. This reminds me of when I went to a work-event with my wife in Phoenix and they had gift suites. The choices were Oakley sunglasses, JBL headphones and Bluetooth speakers and different types of Ninja blenders (there were other choices but these stick out). Where, exactly, am I supposed to put the Ninja blender if Outback Bowl 2017 Live choose that as my gift? Do I just carry it on? But, no, I really hope they offer the players blenders.

The Fossil watch is another gift standard and I’m not sure why considering it isn’t 2002. Some Iowa players will still have their Fossil watches from the last Outback Bowl. Oh, and the Rose Bowl. Oh and from the TaxSlayer Bowl. That’s right, every bowl Iowa has played in since 2012 has handed out Fossil watches. Seniors like Beathard, King and Kittle will receive their fourth Fossil watch in four years. Ogio makes a nice duffle bag but wait what, a “Big Game” autographed football? Why would I want a ball signed by members of the Ohio State and Michigan football teams? Or is it Stanford v. Cal? Oh, THIS is what they’re talking about. Neat.

Per Wikipedia, the payout for the Outback Bowl is one of the highest for non-NY6 bowl games at $7.2 million. There are miscellaneous costs associated with the payout but each team is supposed to take home approximately $3.5 million. It’s worth noting, however, that Tennessee only took home $3.05 million from last season’s Outback Bowl. Of course, Iowa doesn’t simply get this money injected directly into their coffers. Thanks to the Big Ten revenue sharing agreement, the payout actually goes to the Big Ten, who then distributes it among the member institutions. So, for example, the 2015 TaxSlayer Bowl payout was $2.7 million per team but Iowa only actually took home $2 million after the revenue was distributed.
At The Main Point of Outback Bowl Live Online:

Iowa actually lost money at the Rose Bowl, despite the payout being considerably larger than other bowls, but that likely had to do with LIVING THE DREAM in Pasadena. Cutting down on costs, despite what Ferentz says, might have something to do with Iowa shortening their stay in Tampa. This marks the fifth time the Hawkeyes have played in the Outback Bowl and their first appearance since the 21-14 loss to LSU in 2013. Overall, the Hawkeyes are 2-2 with dominating wins over Florida in 2004 and South Carolina in 2009 and close losses to Florida in 2006 (WE WERE ROBBED) and LSU in 2014. Iowa and Florida have played three times, all in postseason bowl games, with Florida winning the latest matchup in 2006 when Chad Greenway was obviously not offsides.

Florida finished the regular season 8-4, closing out with losses to FSU and Alabama in the SEC Championship. Despite being demolished by Alabama, 54-16, they only dropped two spots in the College Football Playoff Rankings. Traditionally a New Year’s Day game, the Outback Bowl Live Stream officials moved the game to Monday, January 2nd and also moved the kick back to 12:00 PM central time. It will be televised on ABC and tickets can be purchased through the University of Iowa or through Ticketmaster. It’s official. The University of Florida Gators will face the University of IowaHawkeyes at the 2017 Outback Bowl, the annual New Year’s Day contest at Raymond James Stadium.

“These are two quality teams and a match-up that fans are really going to enjoy watching,” Outback Bowl Chairman Steve Pratico, said. “We look forward to hosting the Hawkeyes and Gator teams and their fans, and ensure them they will have a memorable experience in the Tampa Bay area.” The Gators will represent the Southeastern Conference while the Hawkeyes will represent the Big 10. This marks the fifth time the Hawkeyes have played in the Outback Bowl. Both teams are 8-4 with the SEC East Division Champion Gators ranked No. 17 in the CFP Ranking and No. 20 in the AP Poll while the Hawkeyes are ranked No. 21 in the AP. It will be only the fourth time these teams have played in more than 125 seasons of their football history.

“Few bowls have the combination of location, hospitality and facilities that the Outback Bowl enjoys,” said Florida Athletic Director Scott Stricklin. The 2017 game will be played on Jan. 2. Over its history, the bowl has brought more than a million out-of-market visitors to the region while creating an estimated $1 billion in economic impact and distributing over $130 million to universities. Tickets to the upcoming game, which will be televised on ABC, are $80 each. Last year, the Tennessee Volunteers beat the Northwestern Wildcats in a 45-6 victory. Tennessee represented the SEC while Northwestern represented the Big 10
